Colorado Staycation ideas

Living in Colorado is pretty great for a lot of reasons. If you’ve owned a home for a year or more then you’re enjoying the appreciation on your house. But even if you don’t own a home, there are so many great things about living here aside from the housing and job market. Colorado is beautiful and there are so many great places to visit if you don’t feel like going far from home for a getaway; try a Colorado staycation.

Close to Denver

Looking for just a day trip? Colorado Springs offers the gorgeous Broadmoor resort. It boasts a gorgeous golf course, spa services, pool and more. Also located in Colorado Springs is Great Wolf Lodge, which has a huge indoor water park, and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.  Not far from Colorado Springs is The North Pole, Santas Workshop, located in Cascade, CO. Garden of the God’s and Cave of the Winds are also in the Springs.  Needless to say, there are many things to see and do in Colorado Springs.

Outdoor Adventure

If you’re into skiing, snowboarding, hiking, backpacking, and more outdoor adventure, the mountains are not far from the city. While there are many places that are nearby Denver to hike and mountain bike, the skiing and snowboarding is going to require at least an hour drive. Not much of a skier or snowboarder? Copper Mountain offers tubing, you take the carpet up the hill and ride down on an innertube. Lots of fun for the kids too!

Not really into activities? Looking for some place to rest and relax? Colorado has great places for that purpose, as well! Colorado has a lot of hot springs, some are community style like Glenwood Springs, while others offer private hot spring pools. Check them out here:

If you’re looking for some R&R or a mental break from work, there’s no need to go far. Colorado is gorgeous and full of amenities and outdoor activities. There’s no need to catch a plane somewhere, just hop in the car and in as little as 45 minutes you can be on your next vacation!
